LOCAL BIKE SHOPS
MASON RACING
Mason Racing is a fantastic shop that is now located across from the Boston Lot Trailhead. They carry bikes from Rocky Mtn, Transition, and Salsa. For clothing you will find items from Troy Lee Designs, Fox, and some awesome shop hoodies and T’s. The head mechanic here, “Bike Shop Andy,” does in house suspension work and used to manage a rental shop at a large bike park. He has rebuilt several forks and dropper posts for me. This shop is passionate about riding and developing the local trails. The shop manager, Jason, is incredibly knowledgable and a great place to start if you need(want) a new bike. I was fortunate to race for this shop for several years and they remain a favorite stop of mine. Plus, I’m always learning new things from riding with Andy, who has trails named after him. Definitely, check this shop out if you are in the area to ride or meet up with me for a lesson. They run group rides in the Boston Lot trail system weekly. Check the links below for days and times.
Arrowhead Recreation Area & Trails
THE WHEELHOUSE
The Wheel House has been around for several years formerly known as the Claremont Cycle Depot. The shop is now under new ownership and responsible for the awesome explosion of trails at the Arrowhead Recreation Area in Claremont, NH. They carry Trek, Revel, and Transition Bikes. The knowledgable staff here can help you navigate any bike or equipment purchase that you might make. Their service department is led by Eli, who has a lot of experience and attention to detail. I trust him with any bike I own. The shop mangers are avid riders and racers, who love talking about bikes as much as riding them. It is worth it just to stop in this shop for the atmosphere alone. Bikes are more than just a business it is certainly a way of life for Rob, Matt, and Eli. Together they make up one of the coolest shops in the area. I was fortunate to race for this shop as well during my competitive career. Every Thursday night during the summer they host “Thursduro” at Arrowhead, which has become a destination spot for advanced riders. Definitely put this shop on your list when looking for a new bike or just want to talk about bikes with really awesome people.
